FAQ's

What is dip powder? Dip powder is a powder more finely ground acrylic powder, and a mani somewhere between a regular mani and a fake acrylic nail. Applied with dip liquids, or gel liquids depending on your preference. Dip comes in many different colours, opaqueness, additives, glow, UV changers, and temperature changers. My bases are dual purpose, meaning they can be applied as dip nails, or used with monomer.
How much dip do I need?

Not as much as you think! A little goes a long way. Depending on coverage, and the length of your nails, these are the approximate yields based on volume.

Sample (1tsp)- 3 full manicures
Mini (1/4oz, 1.5tsp)- 5-7 full manicures
1/2oz (3tsp)- 7-10 full manicures
1oz- 14-20 full manicures

My dips are currently 0.25oz filled by weight, and sample sizes which are 1tsp by volume. Both volumes are packaged in 0.25oz silver lid jars. Crystal (clear) is packaged by weight in 0.50oz white lid jars. Sample baggies are 1tsp by volume.

How long does a dip powder manicure last? Dip powder nails can last anywhere from two weeks to a month depending on how hard you are on your nails, prep, application, and growth.
How do you remove dip powder nails? You never want to pick or peel your dip powder off, this can cause serious damage to your nail bed! Instead, gently file off your topcoat, and then soak your nails in pure acetone for 15 mins.

There are many videos on YouTube featuring dip powder removal. Common methods include the "baggie method," and the "rice method." Check my social media accounts for videos.

Using clear coats of dip (or other types of bases- full coverage tips, builder gels, etc) underneath your colour will allow you to do "fills" instead of full removal every time you wish to change your colour. Using an e-file, you can gently file off your colour down to your base layers, fill growth areas with clear (or builder gel), and dip colour as normal. Never use an e-file on your natural nail!
How do I work with glitters, foils & terrazzo? Working with glitters doesn't have to be a challenge. Gently tap the jar to bring glitters to the top. Lay your nail into the dip as opposed to dipping. Use a glitter press or a sandwich baggie to gently press the glitters flat before the layer dries. Add a layer of clear to "clear cap" your glitter and protect them during filing and buffing. See my social media accounts for videos.
Safety

Always do nail enhancements in a properly ventilated space. Keep dip and liquids out of reach of pets and children. Do not eat or directly inhale dip. It is not safe for consumption! Keep dips and liquids in cool, dry environments, out of direct sunlight. Ensure liquids are not on skin (nails only) to reduce risk of chemical reaction and skin irritation.

**Please seek medical attention/advice for ingestion, direct contact with eyes, allergic reactions, dermatology & nail issues.

What ingredients do you use? All ingredients used in my dips have been sourced from Canadian and USA companies, and florals are collected from my own all natural, english garden. My non-creme bases are dual purpose (dip and monomer), 9-Free, HEMA free, vegan, cruelty free, medical grade, and made in the USA.
